Return Home

January feels different these days. In the ‘pre’ times, folks curious about Yoga would show up enthusiastically to the studio. Some would ‘catch the bug’ and others, would move on after a week or two. Regardless of the motivation behind starting an asana practice, for many of us winter is a good time to return or recommit to practice.

Near two years into the pandemic, and with the various waves and dips and waves again–of the virus, of our emotions, of our various practices–having access to short, efficient, and accessible practices might just be what you need to return home.

Home, for me, is remembering my aliveness, my connection to the elements, and my relationship with other beings. Home-making is a practice of making space for what is emergent, not a willing or forcing of ‘the shoulds’. Home-making is a dynamic process that needs regular tending. Returning Home is not a one-time act, but an ongoing tending to all aspects of ourselves.
